Our Story

Marinated in History

Did you know 1905 was the year pizza as we know it made its official debut in the United States? Lombardi’s, then a grocery store in New York's Little Italy, was the first vendor of coal-oven pizza to the masses of Manhattan. Though pizza existed before that time in the US, it was only available through unlicensed vendors or in Italian home kitchens. True to the legacy of its name, Pizza 1905 continues to make pizza in the New York tradition at both its locations in Lake Mary and Winter Park.

About the Family

The owners of Pizza 1905 are husband and wife: Alfio and Bonnie Ravaglia. The married duo are no strangers to New York standards. Together, they ran a successful restaurant in the heart of the Big Apple’s Little Italy in the 1980s and early 90s. Alfio hails from Sicily and gave up a lucrative career as a mortgage broker to pursue his passion.
